Wardrobe Fittings for Indian Homes

A wardrobe that actually works for the way you dress and store things needs more than shelves and a rail. STONN wardrobe solutions include the sliding hardware, the internal accessories for clothes and sarees, and the push-to-open systems for a handle-free finish.

Sliding Wardrobe Fittings

The sliding wardrobe range covers the track, rollers, and guides needed to hang one to four sliding doors. The top-hung system carries the full weight of the door on a top aluminium track so the floor guide only keeps the door upright. This means the floor guide does not jam with dust or debris.

The roller assembly uses a sealed steel bearing that does not need oiling. Doors up to 25 kg per leaf can be hung on the standard roller, and a heavy-duty version is available for solid wood doors up to 40 kg. The track is available in 1.8 m and 2.4 m lengths and can be cut to size on site.

The soft-close buffer for sliding wardrobes is a separate fitting that clips to the track end. When the door reaches the last 100 mm of travel, the buffer slows it down so it does not bang into the frame or the adjacent door. This is particularly useful in bedrooms where a slamming wardrobe door in the morning would wake someone sleeping in the room.

Trouser Rack

The trouser rack is a pull-out unit that fits inside a wardrobe in the space normally used by a shelf. It has a row of chrome-plated bars across a steel frame. Each bar holds one pair of trousers folded over the bar rather than hanging on a clip. A standard 600 mm wide unit holds around 20 pairs, depending on the thickness of the fabric.

The rack pulls out on a full-extension slide so you can see all the trousers without taking any out. The pull-out mechanism uses the same ball bearing runner as the drawer channel range so it operates smoothly under load.

Saree Rack

Sarees stored folded on shelves tend to slip and fall when you pull one out from the middle. The STONN saree rack uses a series of pull-out arms set at 45 degrees. Each arm holds a folded saree and the arms fan out when you pull the rack forward. You can see every saree without moving any of them, and returning one does not disturb the others.

The rack mounts on standard side-mounted runners. The arm spacing is set to fit a standard folded saree width. Available in 600 mm, 750 mm, and 900 mm wardrobe widths.

Push-to-Open Systems

Push-to-open wardrobe hardware removes the need for handles on wardrobe doors. You press the door face gently and the latch releases, pushing the door open by 15-20 mm so you can grip the edge. On sliding wardrobes, a push-to-open track version uses a magnetic latch in the track end that holds the door closed. A gentle push releases it and a spring returns it to the standing position ready for the next open.

Push-to-open works well in bedrooms where a handle-free finish gives the wardrobe a cleaner look. It is also useful in children's rooms where small handles can catch clothing or cause injuries if a child runs into an open wardrobe door.

Finish and Installation

All steel components in the wardrobe range use the same electro-plated black or chrome finish as the rest of the STONN catalogue. Chrome is the default finish for internal accessories like trouser and saree racks. Black is available for the visible components on handle-free wardrobes where the soft-close bumpers and track guides need to match a dark furniture finish.
